Upon successful completion of this qualification, candidates will be awarded with a Certificate of Competency.
This course is for anyone wishing to demonstrate occupational competence in lifting operations as an appointed person. This NVQ is also required both for red CPCS Appointed Person trained operator card holders and red NPORS-CSCS Appointed Person trained operator card holders in order to upgrade to the blue competent operator card and so be able to renew it.
To recognise your knowledge, skills and competence in lifting operations as an appointed person within the workplace.
Units in this NVQ include:
Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships in the Workplace
Planning Lifting Activities Using Cranes and/or Lifting Equipment in the Workplace
Planning and Establishing Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental Systems for Lifting Operations in the Workplace
Planning Activities and Resources to Meet Work Requirements in the Workplace
Evaluating and Selecting Work Methods to Meet Project or Operational Requirements in the Workplace
Planning the Preparation of the Site for the Project or Operation in the Workplace
Identifying, Allocating and Planning the Deployment and Use of Plant, Equipment or Machinery in the Workplace
You will be assessed in the workplace through a number of assessment methods such as observations, professional discussions, witness testimonies, written questions, work generated evidence, etc.
These NVQ qualifications request the learner to demonstrate, in a real workplace environment, that you are competent against a set of performance statements. You are assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you and help you through your programme of learning.
If you sucessfully complete this qualification you will be awarded with a SQA Accredited Certificate.
A CSCS Black Managers Card will be availible for you to apply for from the CITB.
