L3 - NVQ Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision
This is a work-based learning qualification that enables you to work as a work supervisor in the construction industry. As a supervisor, you will plan work activities and resources, co-ordinate and organise work such as building projects, whilst maintaining good occupational working relationships. You will also learn how to implement and monitor health and safety in the workplace and implement safe and healthy working practices. It is ideal for you if you work in the construction industry and are required to supervise the work of others. The qualification contains 5 mandatory units and 6 optional units. You pick 2 optional units out of the 6 units, and this allows you to specialise in areas that will help you in your job role.
There are no entry requirements for this qualification – anyone over the age of 16 that is seeking to demonstrate competence in occupational work supervision can take this qualification. It is an ideal qualification to take if you hold other level 2 construction qualifications such as a Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying or Plastering or a level 2 Certificate in Construction Operations and wish to gain a level 3 qualification to supervise the work of others in the construction industry.
WHY TAKE THIS QUALIFICATION?
You will take this Level 3 NVQ qualification if you are currently employed or have previously been employed in the construction industry and are required to supervise the work of others and wish to demonstrate your ability to work safely and competently to a recognised national standard. NVQ Diplomas can teach you advanced skills and gain you employment, however many large construction sites require the NVQ to demonstrate you are able to work safely and competently onsite.
WHAT COULD THIS QUALIFICATION LEAD TO?
This qualification prepares you for work at a supervisory level in the construction industry, with a specific focus on work supervision. Upon completion you can apply to CSCS, or other industry card schemes, to gain a recognised skills card. If you wish to progress to become a site supervisor or manager working on site, you may wish to study any of the following qualifications.
